Meet the Doctors
Please take a moment to meet Your Family Doctor and those who work hard to provide you and your family the best possible personalized care. We look forward to getting to know you.
Doctor William Padilla
I am originally from Monterrey Mexico and lived there until two years of age when my family moved to the United States so that my father could complete his medical training. We settled in Houston Texas which is where I was raised and completed my primary education.
I grew up experiencing the joy and fulfillment of providing medical care and the sacred physician-patient relationship at my fathers general practice office. By the time I was in elementary school I had decided that I wanted to make the art of medicine my life’s work.
I returned to Monterrey Mexico to attend medical school at the University Of Monterrey. I chose Family Practice as my specialty as I wanted to attend to patients of all ages, not wanting to limit myself to a specific patient type or organ system but to rather specialize in treating the whole person regardless of age as well as the complete family unit.
After completing medical school I was accepted to the Family Practice residency program at the University of Massachusetts in 1983. After completing my residency in 1986 I joined a medical group practice (Chula Vista Family Medical Group) in 1986, where I practiced for fifteen years.
I opened my own practice in 2001 with the goal of connecting with my patients on a more personal level. I wanted to develop and promote a relaxed pleasant environment where our patients could feel comfortable and well cared for.
I am married to Ann, whom many of you know is our office manager. I have been blessed with four children. Maelesa, who is presently attending Loyola Law School and wants to focus on criminal prosecution, Malorie, who is at the University of Texas Austin in a social work masters program, Tomas is completing his second year of college in Santa Barbara and Anamaria is just completing her second year of elementary school at Saint Charles Borromeo.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, surfing whenever possible and staying fit with yoga, biking or running.
It is a privilege and honor to make that human connection with our patients, developing close relationships so that we can together partner to optimize their health. |
Doctor Joseph Cerjan
My training is in Family Medicine and I have worked in family practice settings as well as have worked several years in emergency medicine. My primary aim is to promote the health and well being of my patients to the best that circumstances allow. Hopefully, this enables them to have a richer experience through this journey that we call, “life”.
My hobbies and past-times include playing sports; mostly tennis, golf, surfing and exercise. I enjoy reading and a relaxing moment at a coffee house. I play guitar a bit and may someday get back to the piano. Sometimes I garden and sometimes I cook.
At all times I try to appreciate the wonder and beauty of the world around us and the accomplishments of others.
My activities help balance me and challenge me to acquire new skills. I hold in high priority my family and my daughter, Talia. I hope to promote my friends and appreciate the community in which I live.
I enjoy practicing medicine with Dr. Padilla and his staff, and am proud in the service for which we strive to provide. |
Meet the Staff
Ann Padilla
I am the office manager here at Padilla Family Medicine. To tell you a little about me: I love coming to work – I mean that – I truly enjoy my co-workers and absolutely adore our patients. Dr. Padilla and Dr. Cerjan are excellent physicians and I take pride in being a member of our Team.
I was born and raised here in San Diego and studied at California State University Fullerton where I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology. I recently took up yoga and feel it has changed my life for the better as far as my mental and physical well-being. My other favorite pastime is spending time with my seven year old daughter, Anamaria. I enjoy hiking at Torrey Pines nature reserve, working in my garden and giving my best shot at stand-up paddle boarding.
My philosophy at our office is to give my very best to each of our patients to make sure they all feel comfortable, knowledgeable and get their questions answered. I believe each patient deserves 100% of my attention.
Nancy Becerra
Hi! I am the back office nurse. I started working with Dr. Padilla over eight years ago and it feels as if it was yesterday.
I have four wonderful kids that keep me busy and I have been married for 16 years.
I enjoy coming to work and at the end of the day having that feeling of accomplishment. Love my work; enjoy caring and helping patients as if they were part of my family.
Brenda Perez
My name is Brenda Perez; I am 26 years old and was raised in Chula Vista. I am engaged to a wonderful man and have two beautiful kids. I am a very active person who likes to make sure everything gets done in a timely manner. I always said to myself that I wanted to work in a place where I would wake up in the morning and actually want to go to work and that’s exactly how I feel every morning. I love my job and being able to help and make patients feel better on an everyday basis is what I love to do.
Cynthia G’Arce
I’m one of the great nurses who work with Dr. Padilla. I’ve been married for over 5 years and have two wonderful kids who keep me busy. I’m also currently enrolled in school to receive my A.A. in sociology. I have been here about one year and even with a busy schedule I still enjoy waking up every morning to go to work. I’m always welcomed with a smile from our patients and the staff.
