As we age, our skin loses its tone, elasticity and firmness and we develop signs of sun damage. Perhaps the most bothersome signs of aging are the dark blemishes, sun spots and age spots that develop over time. These pigmented lesions are due to genetic predisposition and unprotected sun exposure. Due to advancements in cosmetic dermatology, it is now possible to remove pigmented lesions, age spots, sun spots and other dark blemishes.
The Cosmelan depigmentation meso-peel is based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process. Several of the substances present in the Cosmelan formula act to block this enzyme. The active ingredients include Azelaic acid, Phytic acid, Kojic acid and vitamin C.
The Cosmelan depigmentation meso-peel involves an in-office treatment followed by a home care protocol. During the in-office treatment, the technician will first cleanse the skin thoroughly. A degreasing solution is then applied. Cosmelan 1 cream is then applied to the entire area to be treated. The mask will remain on the patient's face for a specified duration of time. The activation time will range from 5 to 10 hours. You will be provided with detailed home care instructions. It is imperative to carefully follow these instructions and to apply the Cosmelan 2 and Hydra-Vital K creams as directed.
The Cosmelan depigmentation meso-peel offers several major advantages over other depigmentation treatments. The treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be performed at any time of the year. The treatment improves the texture of the skin and has a very high safety margin. With minimal down time and excellent safety and tolerability, it is now possible to rid yourself of unattractive pigmentation.
